Have some old videotapes, won’t you?

Many years of taping music vids off the telly has created an interesting archive of oddball clips from Radio With Pictures, and other late night TV offerings. All yours.

And yes – that’s the entire NZ broadcast of Live Aid (1985) on the bottom left of the picture. Kicks off with Phillip Schofield interviewing Bob Geldof and gets progressively more ‘twenty years ago’ as it goes along.

I’m playing it as I write. Good nick for its vintage, brings back a lot of memories, but it’ll be another 20 years before I look at it again.

I’ve been put in charge of cleaning out the garage as part of the ongoing project to make life more manageable and transportable for the forthcoming trip to the UK.

There are some things I’ll no doubt sell, some stuff I’ll put in storage, a whole lot I’ll throw away – and then there’s the stuff that falls between those categories. It’s the stuff that I have no earthly use for, is just taking up space, and all I get out of owning it is the knowledge that it’s there – just in case.

In other words, it’s that sort of stuff that somebody like you might get some use and enjoyment out of – so I don’t want to just turn it into landfill – but isn’t worth any actual money.

So – email me, let me know you want it, and you can arrange to collect it. I’m not going to send it anywhere, I’m not going to package it up (short of throwing it all into a couple of plastic shopping bags), but if you want the tapes, drop me a note and they’re yours.

And watch this space. I have lots of crap.
