Read this: C4 swears by four-letter advert
Channel 4 is to court controversy with a provocative advert littered with swear words in which the word “cunt” is heard nine times in the space of just 90 seconds.
Gosh – that’s the word we were always told was utterly unbroadcastable. And here’s the Guardian printing it – not once, but several times in the same article (you get the sense they’ve found an excuse and they’re having fun with this report).
Apparently John Lydon got away with it on national TV in the UK recently (complaint not upheld), and that’s opened the floodgates. Now it’s a promo for a tv channel.
It’s just such a shame I can’t swear convincingly. Or, it turns out, say “keeping it real” with a straight face – but that’s another story.
