This seemed like the right choice for Easter Sunday, whatever your belief system (or lack thereof) happens to be.
It’s a beautiful album by my friend, business partner, collaborator and co-conspirator Steve Lawson – an amazing bass player and a fine human being.
Steve is something of an inspiration – an amazing thinker, a great blogger, and a great example of someone who understands and is making the most of the opportunities in the digital music sector.
Grace and Gratitude is an album of solo bass pieces, but perhaps not as you’d expect. Steve uses effects, loops and layers to build moods and create textures. There’s a story behind this record – but I’ll let Steve tell that. For me, this is just my current favourite of his recordings.
