There’s no way I can tell you about Shayne Carter in just a few paragraphs. I’ll simply say that the man’s been a musical hero of mine for more than half my life, and that a record by him is not just a great record, but an important one.
I still think of them as his ‘new band’, but Dimmer are into their fourth album – and while Degrees of Existence is a slow burner, that’s where Carter is at his best.
Listen to the album, download it – and marvel that we’ve been able to keep him pretty much to ourselves down at the bottom of the planet for all this time, and you had no idea. We don’t even export the best of the wine either. So there.
Oh – and play this one LOUD.
