Woman jump starts car with cyber-infant

As the world grows to resemble science fiction, it also becomes more absurd. It’s just lucky the kid didn’t swallow the garage door opener as well… or the cellphone, for that matter.

A London woman used her own one-year-old infant to jump start her Ford Focus after the voracious rugrat ate the coded radio transponder from the car’s keys, the Telegraph reports.

What the dino saw

This goes beyond reality resembling science fiction, straight into reality borrowing heavily from science fiction.

Apparently, the ancestors of dinosaurs could see in the dark. How do we know this? Because scientists pillaged Jurassic Park for research ideas.

Jurassic Park was ridiculed by scientists. Extracting 145 million-year-old DNA from a mosquito preserved in amber and then growing a dinosaur was, they said, laughable. Especially as DNA is unstable after a few thousand years, and the mosquito used in the film did not exist at the time of the dinosaurs.

But now a team of scientists has recreated a gene dating from an even more ancient creature – the ancestor of the dinosaurs, which lived 250m years ago.
