This is probably the best article in terms of explaining the impact of the webcasting bill in front of the US Senate – and what it will and won’t mean for non-commercial (ie the vast majority) audio webcasters (I refuse to use the term ‘internet radio’, for reasons I’ve made clear in the past and am quite happy to explain if you drop me an email).

The Internet Radio community is in turmoil. The Webcasters trade body looks likely to split over the issue of performance royalties, with many grassroots webcasters resigning in disgust at the HR.5469 bill now before the Senate.
