Oscar Peterson’s jazz artistry undiminished

Every review I’ve read says that this is one of the better jazz bios out there – especially for non-musicians faced with the prospect of having to come to terms with the technicalities of the music

“For most of my life as a working musician I have been forced to watch gloomily as Western society emasculated or simply ignored the culture and the unique phenomenon we call jazz.” These sobering words come from none other than Oscar Peterson in his new autobiography A Jazz Odyssey, published earlier this summer.
