The Eclective is requesting art and new media work for the publication, Eclect. Eclect is an A5 full coloured magazine with CDROM/CD and website. Eclect will focus on exhibiting work that is innovative and accessible.

The magazine Eclect is providing a space for the exhibition of a new, emerging arts and media culture. Eclect will celebrate work that is innovative because of its local context; Aotearoa. We will bring exposure to art practices that are multi-faceted in form uses a hybrid of media or are resonant of our current cultural diversity.

The first issue ‘I like this Place’ is about about community and identity. It will profile how identity is formed in relation to a community and how this is reciprocated.

Eclect will explore the dynamics of our local cultures, create debate on audio visual communication and discuss the operations of creative industries in New Zealand
