Interesting… just had an email from Simon Morton. He’s producing a new series for National Radio called ‘Digital Life’ which will broadcast on Saturdays at 1pm from June 29. It “aims to explore how technology is changing the way we do things, focusing on the stories behind the technology itself”.

Should be an interesting series. I mentioned in my reply that this is more or less the topic of my thesis – only the focus of his series seems to be that digital technology changes what people do and how they act. My theory is that it changes who they are and how they think. Again, the struggle between the behaviourist and the cognitive theorist… :)

I also pointed him towards the Douglas Adams BBC documentary, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Future’ – which I thoroughly recommend. You can listen to it here.
