Walking in Rhythm

October 7, 2010 – 12:09 am

I was asked today if I would be able to make up a playlist of songs that are around the tempo of Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da by the Beatles – as that was a great song to go walking to.

Turns out that’s around 113 beats per minute.

So armed with a bit of technology, I went through a bunch of songs that I thought might fit the bill, and built up a playlist. These songs are all 113bpm, plus or minus 3% (which I decided was an acceptable tolerance). They’re not all songs I love – but they’re all great for walking.

Feel free to make a Spotify playlist or contribute your own suggestions. I’ve done my bit. Enjoy.

No – but a couple of people mentioned Echonest, though I didn’t end up getting that far with it. Thanks for the link.

Hmm… forgot that Suspicious Minds slows right down. Might have to pull that one out.

Seeing as this is for your mother-in-law, I’d remove the Kylie…everything else is perfect for her :)
