I went for a bike ride today, along with about 200,000 other people. It was for Critical Mass – an international cycling movement who campaign for better cycling conditions in urban centres. This was the biggest celebration ride they’d ever staged.
The ride went all over the most scenic places in Budapest – and it was a lovely way to see the city. A nice, relaxed pace – and everyone in a fantastic mood.
At the end, there was a combined ‘bike lift’ (where people raise their bikes over their heads simultaneously) and some music in a park – and then everyone went their merry way. It was a really great event.
