Sad, red heart balloon stuck up a tree in the rain
I was out for a bike ride this morning (I’m on holiday, you know) – and as I rode along, I saw a helium-filled heart-shaped balloon drift loose from its place at the front of a gift shop along Stratford Road, and get stuck up in a tree.
Wasn’t quick enough to snap it as it sailed away, but I did manage to take this shot, just as a big drop of rain landed smack in the middle of the lens.
Seemed like it was symbolic of something: a red heart balloon breaking loose and flying free briefly, but becoming inevitably trapped against a grey sky as the rain starts to fall. There’s probably a movie where that happens, but I bet nothing blows up in it.
