Good luck on your Journey!!

I'm currently 3.5 months on my weight loss journey and I can tell ya - it's not easy. But with determination, hard work and a good nutritional/workout plan you will be on the road to success in no time. I've documented each challenging day and hope it will help you with a little bit of inspiration to keep the goal in sight and to keep working on it. My journey : http://road2riddick.blogspot.com

Another thing, use your iphone(I have an itouch) for your cardio workouts - pop on a movie or an episode of your favorite show and enjoy...works for me! =)

No, you're right - the weight loss is the over-arching purpose of the exercise, but it's not what the site is about, if you get what I mean.

Imagine somebody had an ambition to be more well-travelled. They could chart all of the miles they cover with graphs and diagrams - or they could take photos of the interesting sights and new people.

Sure, they could just book more flights and stay at home less often, and that would do the job, but getting your own snap of the Eiffel Tower or the Taj Mahal makes the whole thing more fun.

In a way, my project is dietary tourism.

Oh, apologies. Silly me.
I thought this was about your losing weight, with the associated benefit of some interesting food photography documentation.
Wrong again.
You're right about traveling and weight control, though. 120k miles a year = an airline/hotel/client dinner/snack diet. Purgatory.

And don't be silly with "Don’t really need an audience either", Dubber.
That's why we blog, isn't it? Beats just howling at the moon. Only just.

Not really interested in the data or graphing things. Don't really need an audience either. This is about photography, food and blogging - things I like. Statistics don't really interest me, and they certainly don't motivate me.

But what I'm already finding is that my choices of food are starting to be considered in terms of "what does this look like?" Quantity and quality are both considerations in that. This exercise keeps those top of mind.

I'm already walking and cycling, the odd bit of swimming. But I travel a lot - and travelling on the cheap often means eating crap. This helps me think about not just taking the easy option.

I'm with Dad on this one. Andrew.
Work out where you want to be weight-wise and when and chart it. Downward sloping line, correct?
Then log your measured weight each day against that line.
Above it? Eat less and sweat more. Below it? Indulge a little.
With your (or Steff's) skills, you could make it interactive and we can all click at any point on the graph to see what caused that blip.
And keep you honest.

There is a book called "Everything I ate - A year in the life of my mouth". It's by a guy called Tucker Shaw, it's good, very similar to this.

I remember now: it wasn't on YouTube, it was an actual proper art installation as part of the 'Medicine Now' exhibition at the Wellcome Institute. There are no artist credits on the Wellcome Collection website but if you're ever waiting for a train at Euston, pop in. It's free and over the road here:
