You are fed directly into my iGoogle start page.
In my Gmail, you are also fed into the newsclips bit at the top.
Both of these seem to work fine.

As for Google Reader, I opt for news of specific interest, rather than headlines. I add RSS feeds from search results, which is cleverly generated to RSS by Google News. So one topic could be all news stories on &#039;Michael Phelps&quot; (no relation by the way - wish he was!).

I search his name as above in Google News.
On the left hand side of the results, is the &#039;Recent&#039; section.
I change this to &#039;last day&#039;
Then copy the RSS link under the News Alerts icon.
Then paste that into Google Reader as a new feed.
Voila! Freshly delivered stories on Michael Phelps each day.</description>
