Catch-22

Self-portrait on a train

There’s a sort of Catch-22 of blogging. Because I write about what I’m doing in my life, I try to make sure I do interesting things so that I have something to write. Because I’m doing interesting things, I don’t have time to do any blogging. So every now and then, I apologise, explain and move on. Not that you were sitting around waiting for me to say something interesting – but I kind of feel that having a blog is a bit of a promise – and I hate promising something and then not delivering on that.

But there’s so much to report that it seems unreasonable to expect you to read all about it in one go – so I’ll do it in bits. Hopefully life will settle down and be – if not boring, then at least fairly manageable.

And I’m going to do this in no particular order – but I’m going to try and sweep up the bits.

First of all, I should say that these post-facto posts will include visits to Norway, adventures in the North of Holland, meetings with interesting people who work for record labels I get really excited about and some exciting new projects. Those can come next, and if I post often enough, then I can catch up and tell you what’s going on in a far more contemporaneous manner. But for now, what I’d like to do is simply draw your attention to the fact that my CV is online. Hardly exciting stuff, but it’s something I’ve been meaning to get to since this blog began.

My plan is to update it periodically, but I’ll use the CV page itself as a scrapbook to remind myself to add things to it as I do them. Or at least once a month. So the most recent version of the document will be there, as well as some reminders of things I did that might warrant a mention in the next revision.

If you want to know what I’m up to as I’m doing it, you could always follow me on Twitter, because that seems to have stuck as a habit. If you want to something more visual, you could have a look at my Flickr account and browse through the photos.

I’ve even given serious consideration to doing the occasional video blog. We’ll see how that pans out. But in the meantime, the catch-up, in instalments. Starting here any moment now…
