Mrs Brown (Victoria Kelly) and her lovely daughter
Popped in to visit Victoria and Ashley, and meet their daughter, Sasha. We had a lovely afternoon at their house, which had once belonged to Joe, and so we spent many delightful afternoons sitting out the back in the sun, drinking lovely beverages and chatting.

Jake demonstrates his photography skills
Jake was quite taken with Sasha, and discovered the joys of baby photography. He took something like 200 photos in the space of an hour.
Victoria’s one of New Zealand’s leading composers and string arrangers, and Ashley’s the cellist in NZ Trio, the group in residence at the University of Auckland. Both top of their game musicians, so you can imagine what we talked about for the most part.

Ashley and Sasha. Note the photographer on the right.
V played me a track she’d done for Te Whaiao (Te Ku Te Whe remixed), which was absolutely gorgeous, and we listened to and sang the praises of SJD’s new record. Man, that’s a great album.
It was really great to catch up with them properly, sit and have a drink and just relax after a big shopping day. A lovely afternoon to sip rosé, chat about music and hang out with two really talented kiwis and their remarkably cute and advanced offspring.
Having a wonderful time, wish you were here.
