Postcard 8: Tattoo

Consulting with the Artist: The talented Otis Frizzell
So… I didn’t chicken out and I had my tattoo done. I’m so absolutely stoked with it. Mark at Illicit did a fantastic job, and it didn’t hurt half as much as I had been warned it probably would.
I started the afternoon by dropping the mobile phone down into the air vent of Mum’s car (honestly, it looked like a handy little storage compartment, not a vent with the grill broken off) before meeting with Otis, who had designed the tattoo Bobbie’s given me for my 40th.
We had a bite to eat and a coffee at Verona, and then visited his studio between K’ Road and Myers Park. He’s working on some great stuff, and I took plenty of photos, but they’re not really for public consumption on the blog. Ask me when you come round for dinner, and I’ll show you sometime.

It’s like being drawn on with a sewing machine
The process took just over three hours to complete, and it looks amazing. It would probably look better with some muscle definition and less bodily insulation, but perhaps 2008 is my get-buff year. Now I’ve got the tattoo, it might provide some incentive. We’ll see.
Here’s the finished product. At the moment, it feels like mild sunburn…

Ouch.
Having a wonderful time. Wish you were here.

It looks absolutely amazing. Almost makes me want one but I don’t believe it at all when you said it didn’t hurt much. Postcards are very cool
