We have another blogger in the house.
After talking about the whole New Year’s Resolution thing in the past 24 hours, Jake decided that maybe something he could do is create his own blog, and commit to a post a week.
While it’s going to mean I’m competing for screen time at the laptop – even more so than before – I think there’ll be some good spinoff effects.
I’m expecting his typing to improve (something Seth Godin rates quite highly) and the quality of his writing should get better as time goes on too.
I also think it’ll be a fascinating document that develops over time, and something he can look back at in years to come. And you can be sure I’ll be keeping him to his resolution.
Words of encouragement welcomed. The comments section is – at least for now – enabled.
Of course, I’m being fairly careful about this and watching it pretty closely. He’s not even allowed to use his own name on Runescape because of the potential for internet nasties. Officially, you’re not even allowed a Blogger account until you’re 13.
But hell, we snuck him into House of Flying Daggers yesterday, and yet there are things his friends can do that he can’t.
So we have our own ideas about age appropriateness. In fact, we’re actually more interested in Jake-appropriateness. Parenting in the 21st century…
Anyway. Pay him a visit here.
As for my listening of the day:
