Gmail Invitation Prices Crash
The bottom has fallen out of the market for Gmail invitations. On Monday morning, invitations to join the testing of Google’s Gmail Web e-mail service were still fetching as much as $100 on eBay closed auctions. By Wednesday afternoon, sellers were lucky to crack the $20 mark.
Weird – I had an email conversation with my Dad about Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi just yesterday, and today, its lyrics seem appropriate:
“Don’t it always seem to go / that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…”
Story of my life. According to the above Wired article, I just gave something away for nothing.
Well done to the few people who were in quick enough to score a freebie.
