Naturally: Clear Channel finds a new way to abuse artists
In the past few years, fans leaving some concerts have discovered a souvenir far better than a T-shirt: a live recording of the show they just attended.
…And so what do Clear Channel do? They buy the technology – including the patent – and now claim to own the exclusive right to sell concert CDs after shows. They plan to enforce their ‘rights’ by stopping a profitable and artist-empowering company from using it.
Good one… why does this stuff still manage to surprise me?
