Download this: Replay Radio
Replay Radio is an incredibly easy way to record radio broadcasts. It’s like a “TiVo DVR” or VCR for the radio. Just pick your favorite radio show, or select a station and a time range, and Replay Radio records it for you. Hundreds of shows and stations are pre-programmed, making recording as easy as point and click.
There’s a free demo version – but this is well worth the splurge.
You set the timer and select the station or show – your computer connects to the net, starts the stream, records to mp3 and then disconnects when it’s finished. Simple, smart, effective.
It’s really good knowing that while you’re at work or fast asleep, you’re recording Afrodesia, Fresh Air, Piano Jazz or The Wire so you can listen to it on the CD player later.
Oddly, it’s an incredibly hard piece of software to track down if you’re looking for something that does what it can do. Trust me – I searched for over a year in vain, and then finally stumbled upon this via a very circuitous route. Hopefully, if more people link it, more people will find it.
