Academics lead push for Holmes’ scalp
The hot water keeps getting hotter for broadcaster Paul Holmes, with high-placed calls for his scalp after his racist and sexist slurs on talkback radio.
Prominent New Zealanders, including the country’s highest-paid artist, Ralph Hotere, and some university academics are calling for Holmes’ resignation over his off-the-cuff remarks.
More than 50 people have signed an open letter to Bill Ralston, director of TVNZ news, and Bill Francis, Newstalk ZB boss, wanting Holmes sacked.
